Meet one of the driving forces behind Victoria's water sector transformation.
Intelligent Water Networks (IWN) is a membership-based program of VicWater, uniting 16 of Victoria's 18 water corporations, TasWater, and DEECA with one mission: to be the catalyst for sector-wide innovation through technology and new ways of thinking.
With 54 projects across 8 programs of work, IWN brings serious scale to water innovation.
As an IoT Water Hub partner, IWN is exploring everything from low-cost sensors and optimal sensor placement to critical infrastructure security, smarter asset management decisions, and data visualisation for better insights.
"For years our greatest sensor was our customer. The first we would know about an issue was when a customer called to report an incident. Technology such as IoT provides our sector with a phenomenal opportunity to give us visibility of our network and to predict and resolve issues before they impact our customers."
What excites them most? The ultimate impact – better understanding network performance to deliver more resilient, cost-effective services for customers.
This is what collaboration looks like. 36+ partners. One shared mission.
